ACQUISITIONS

SCANNER-RHODES acquisitions are currently not actively seeking new scripts as our slate is full for 2009. We have a commitment to develop scripts and build projects currently on our slate. Only in extreme circumstances will there be an exception to the rule. Please find below further information on our acquisitions policy.

Criteria of Content For Acquisitions

Each project must have innovation, originality and marketability. We are looking for scripts, which have the positives of American and British cinema. The good American films are uplifting, exciting & life changing. The qualities of which British films are more known are being Moral, Funny & Clever. We want to produce scripts, which have a combination of the American and British cinematic qualities.

When assessing your script we will be looking at the following elements: Pacing, Structure, depth of story, quality of dialogue, interesting character's and if the script manages to keep a level of interest on every page.

The scripts will be optioned with distribution at the forefront of our decision making. We will be spending a year developing your script and another 1-2 years producing it. If the project doesn't fit into the distribution criteria, we would have wasted three years work. Distributors will look for the following elements: Genre, Hook, Stars, Known Source & Originality.

Genre

Scripts must fall into any of the following Genre’s:

Comedy, Romantic Comedy, Horror, Comedy Horror, Thriller

Rules Of Aquisitions

No first drafts please
No hand written scripts
No unsolicited script
No short films all scripts should be over 85 pages in length
Please ensure correct formatting. Scripts received in an incorrect format will be returned unread.

We will immediately send confirmation on receipt of your work. Due to the volume of scripts we receive we do not have the resources to provide a script report service so any scripts received requiring this service will immediately be returned.
