PRESS RELEASE

Robert Fucilla tackles his unwanted visitors in David Marconi’s SQUAT

Oct 3, 2013 | By Nicole Gregory

Production begins on Scanner-Rhodes Productions edgy new thriller

London, 26th September 2013:

Principal photography has commenced on Hollywood screenwriter David Marconi’s new thriller SQUAT. Shot entirely on location in London, SQUAT is a nascent thriller of two people from polar opposite worlds, thrown together by circumstance.  The feature is directed by Nic Auerbach (The Big I Am) and produced by Dean Fisher (The Man Inside, City Rats).

An exciting British cast has been brought together for this action-packed thriller.  Robert Fucilla (Mercenaries, Shank) plays Nick with Sarah Armstrong as Erika. They are joined by Danny Web (Redemption, Valkyrie), Isabelle Allen (Les Miserables), Nicky Evans (Shameless), Patrick Ryecart (The Kings Speech) and Dean Bardini (The Take).

Financier Nick (Robert Fucilla) has returned to his multi-million pound house to find it infested with squatters.  In his own bedroom, he discovers Erika (Sarah Armstrong), an injured woman with amnesia and his address tattooed on her arm.  Nick’s attempts to help her unravel the past only embroil him in her seedy, violent world.   The ability to buy himself out of trouble cannot save Nick from the violence of small-time gangsters determined to recover their property at any cost.  Nick will have to rely on his wits to save both their lives and finally overcome a threat which comes shockingly close to home.

Dean Fisher says: “It’s a great pleasure to be working with such a high end writer on the film such as David Marconi.  The script has made our job a lot easier in attracting amazing people to the project. We now have a great base to produce a cracking thriller which will appeal to audiences worldwide.”

Scanner-Rhodes Productions was set up by producer Dean Fisher in 1999 to produce commercial films with global appeal. The company has produced seven feature films and a full-length documentary.   Squat will be Scanner-Rhodes Productions’ seventh feature film.
