PRESS RELEASE

Internet Indiscretions are the heart of romantic comedy NOTHING LIKE THIS
Ray Panthaki and Daisy Bevan star in Amit Gupta’s new feature

London, 30th January 2014 | By Nicole Gregory

Principal photography has commenced on Canary Wharf Films’ stylistic romantic comedy NOTHING LIKE THIS.  Shot entirely on location in and around London, the film is produced by Dean Fisher (City Rats, Squat).  NOTHING LIKE THIS is an original screenplay by critically acclaimed writer Amit Gupta (Resistance, Jadoo), who will also direct this story of love, family, forgiveness and confronting the past.

Ray Panthaki (28 Days Later, Convenience) and Daisy Bevan (Elizabeth, The Affair of the Necklace) head this dynamic British cast in the lead roles of Jay and Hannah.  Joining them in the feature are Rianne Steel (The Tunnel, Powder Room), Tom Bell (Love Me Still, Blue Murder), Dan Skinner (Yonderland, House of Fools), Jenny Bede (The World’s End, Convenience) and Raad Rawi (The Devil’s Double, Green Zone).

Jay (Ray Panthaki) has only ever taken one risk.  The resulting sex tape made him an internet sensation and ruined his life.  His parents refuse to speak to him, his acting career is reduced to offers for condom commercials and no girl wants to be dating the man on that tape but things start to change when Jay meets Hannah (Daisy Bevan).  This relationship could be Jay’s fresh start but how long can he keep Hannah in the dark about his past?

Canary Wharf’s quote: ‘We're delighted to announce 'Nothing Like This' as our first Canary Wharf Production. Amit has written a wonderfully funny, heartfelt and unique screenplay which we positively believe will resonate with audiences worldwide’.

Amit’s Quote: It feels inspiring to be surrounded by such a fantastic mix of experience and new talent on my third feature. Shooting this film, having written the script just over three months ago, has felt like a breath of fresh air and I'm enjoying every minute of  working with this wonderful cast and crew.

Canary Wharf Films is a joint venture between Dean Fisher’s Scanner-Rhodes Productions and Urban Way Productions.  The fund was set up to offer commercial projects to the financial sector.   Scanner-Rhodes and Urban Way’s first collaboration was the hugely successful ‘City Rats’, which was released theatrically in April 2009.  Shot for a modest budget of £145, 000, it went on to gross over £3 million and further make it to Number 3 on the UK DVD chart.  NOTHING LIKE THIS is the first feature from Canary Wharf Films.
