British independent film production company Buffalo Dragon, launched in September 2020 by Terri Dwyer and Greg Barrow, is proud to announce that filming is underway in Liverpool and Anglesey (Wales) on their exciting and ambitious new feature BOLAN’S SHOES. Terri Dwyer is producing alongside Dean Fisher of Scanner-Rhodes Productions. In an unprecedented year amid lockdowns and strict Covid-19 regulations, Buffalo Dragon already has one impressive feature under its belt: The Stranger in our Bed, due to be released later this year.
BOLAN’S SHOES is written by experienced actor turned writer Ian Puleston-Davies and marks his solo directorial debut. His previous writing credits include the award-winning DIRTY FILTHY LOVE starring Michael Sheen, which he co-wrote with Jeff Pope, based on his personal experiences of OCD.
Starring renowned British actor Timothy Spall and versatile actress Leanne Best (Line of Duty, Tin Star, Young Wallander) and with a strong supporting cast, BOLAN’S SHOES features the timeless original music by the pioneers of the glam rock movement, Marc Bolan’s T-Rex. Bolan’s son, Rolan Bolan will act as Associate Producer.
BOLAN’S SHOES is a joyful celebration of Seventies culture and brims with
the energy of that colourful and vibrant era. However, much like Marc Bolan’s own legacy, its glitter is dimmed by the tragic repercussions of a deadly road accident and the question of what might have been. This poignant and inspirational story celebrates the enduring legacy of childhood experiences and the deep bonds of sibling love.
Producer Terri Dwyer said: “I have worked with, and known Ian (Puleston-Davies) for over 25 years, and I am truly delighted to be working with him on his wonderful script and watching the story come alive. We are indebted to Roland for giving us permission to use Marc Bolan’s music, as well as his likeness, and honoured to have Timothy Spall in our midst, who adds such gravitas to the main role. The talent on set is electric, and with Ian at the helm, I feel sure Bolan’s Shoes is going to captivate audiences. Buffalo Dragon is thrilled to be part of this terrific project.”
Bolan’s Shoes will be released in 2022 to coincide with the 45th anniversary of Mark Bolan’s death and what would have been his 75th birthday.
